The Monteca Approach

Monteca International Playschool’s curriculum is developed and directed by our very own Mr. Raymond Ng. Mr. Raymond has been awarded with a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care and also a Bachelor of Education from Ryerson University and Tyndale University & Seminary, of Toronto, Canada, respectively. During his time in Canada, he was a member of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care, and also a member of Ontario College of Teachers. Mr. Raymond’s experience in operating a Montessori-based facility derives from commencing a Montessori school in Canada, building the curriculum and managing operations ever since 2015. With the collaboration with Monteca International Playschool’s qualified staff members, the goals are aligned to provide a new face yet containing traditional values to the field of Education.

By bringing in values and standards from a Canadian standard, Mr. Raymond intends to integrate the Montessori pedagogy with the Early Childhood Education standards to provide a curriculum, an experience, and most importantly, a journey of lifelong learning to the children.

Our staff members include AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) certified Montessori teachers and assistants; utilizing authentic Montessori materials. This is essential to a Montessori education as presentations of learning lessons are true and authentic. On top of that, a prepared environment carefully designed to encourage learning through exploration and the child’s innate curiosity is implemented into the venue of Monteca International Playschool.

Monteca International Playschool’s curriculum will also be focused towards localizing the program to fit Hong Kong’s very special culture as this will increase the correlation between real-life and materials learned throughout our classes. In the future, we will also be hosting extra-curricular classes such as Chinese, music, yoga, art, etc. to encourage a multi-dimensional learning experience to cater to diverse learning styles.
